Vehicle Break-Ins On The Rise In Clarksville And Montgomery County

Remember to lock your vehicles…that is the best way to deter car hopping criminals!  These criminals are going from car to car at night, checking for unlocked vehicles with personal items.  It does not matter if your car is in your driveway, or in front of your house, if it is unlocked, it is susceptible.  The current areas that have been hit within Montgomery County are: Ivy Bend Circle, Ivy Brook Way, Lakeview Road, and Prestwicke Place.  The areas that have been hit within Clarksville City limits are the subdivisions off of:  Hazelwood Road, Tiny Town Road, Clearwater Drive, Queensbury Drive and apache Way.  This weekend alone, there were 21 vehicles burglarized.  Nothing is safe in an unlocked vehicle.  Some of the items reported stolen are, military gear, ipads, money, wallets and guns.  Even if you do not live in an area affected you should still take precautions to guard yourself against car theft (or any theft for that matter).

  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Report any suspicious activity
