CMCSS School Zone and Bus Safety – What's Up Clarksville

CMCSS School Zone and Bus Safety

It is hard to believe that the summer break is already over, and the first full week of school has begun. With the school year started, please remember that there will be more traffic, children and buses out and about. Not to mention, all the school zones that are now active. Many schools within the CMCSS school district start and end at different times, so don’t assume that all the school zones will be active during the same time. Remember, the legal speed limit during school zone operating times, is considerably slower than the regular posted speed.

School buses may be on the road as early as 5:30 am and as late as 5:00 pm. When a bus stops and has flashing red lights, and/or their stop sign out, remember that is a legal stop sign. You are not allow to pass that bus until the sign goes back in. I know that this can be a bit confusing knowing which lanes have to stop and which don’t. Due to that fact I am attaching information that was released from the Clarksville PD, to help alleviate that confusion.

Have a great 2019 – 2020 school year CMCSS students and staff!
