Mandated Facial Coverings Now In Effect For Clarksville-Montgomery County

In case you haven’t heard, as of July 20, 2020 everyone is required to wear face coverings (covering the nose and mouth) when out in public. This includes commercial businesses and outdoor areas where social distancing isn’t possible.

Last week some stores such as Walmart had already stated that face coverings were mandatory to shop in all their stores. Now all other stores must follow suit. The stores must have signs which state that face coverings are mandatory to enter.

So why can the Mayor mandate face coverings? Since Gov Bill Lee gave local mayors the right to mandate face coverings through an executive order. This order will stay in effect until July 27th. Though that date may change.

What do you think about face coverings? Do you think it will help the spread of the Corona Virus?
